500KV Zhezhong Substation UHV Project

Project Introduction

Huitong won one bid of State Grid in 2013 to be the provider of angel steel tower for Xizhe UHV project. The total weight of products is up to 2687 tons. The project starts from left bank of Xiluo Ferry of Jinsha River and ends in Zhejiang Section of Jinhua UHV transmission line. This project is the first UHV DC project located in Zhejiang Province. The entire length is 1,680 km, among which 143 km is within Zhejiang Province. The transmission line mainly passes through Jiangshan, Qijiang, Kecheng, Longyou, Wucheng and Wuyi. The value of all transmission towers reaches 200 million RMB. When the UHV AC project between North Zhejiang Province and Fuzhou is completed, its immediate transmission capacity will be 6.8 million kw. In the long term, the capacity can be future increased to 10.5 million kw and above. Hydropower, nuclear power and wind power of Fujian Power Grid can be sent to Zhejiang Province.

Huitong placed great importance on this project. A special team was set up to ensure that each procedure was under strict management. In this project, a large amount of broad-scale 5k5 strain modules are adopted. Besides, 2-angel-steel modules needed to be stitched to 4-angel-steel modules. We have overcome various technical difficulties to achieve foolproof. In terms of lofting, each error was verified repeatedly. Machining allowance was considered cautiously. Besides, high speed drilling must be adopted to fulfil manufacturing requirements of steel Q420. Comparing to traditional drilling, high speed drilling requires longer production cycle. Our employees maintained high efficiency throughout the whole project and completed production task on time.
